Vi sits in an exclusive, appointment-only setting overlooking a bright garden in Santa Barbara's Upper Westside. The studio trains one to two clients at a time — the kind of individualized attention that group classes simply can't offer.

Kristi Chaussard is a Pilates and Fitness Instructor, Educator and Influencer who has trained Pilates teachers in dynamic and athletic movement around the world. She holds specialized trainings and certifications in Cardiolates (a trademarked trampoline training), TRX, Weight training, MAT (Muscle Activation Therapy), postpartum recovery, postural training for conditions like scoliosis and more.
She has been studying and teaching clients for 15 years. She founded the Vi Method in 2025 honing in on exercise science, studied results, and tried practices.
Having been active her whole life, she firmly believes that movement is for the betterment of the mover - to make us stronger, healthier, more confident, and more able.
Life seasons bring various short term goals; whether you love to be pushed or hate to workout, Kristi wants movement to empower and enable you, ultimately giving the greatest gift back - health and strength.
She is here to help you maximize your time and effort to best serve your needs for the short and long term. She is a very knowledgable coach and can help guide you in your health and strength journey in many ways, connecting you to a community of excellent practitioners in multiple fields, helping you get the support and network you need to succeed.

before booking
DO I NEED PILATES EXPERIENCE?
Not at all. Vi welcomes complete beginners as enthusiastically as experienced practitioners. Because every session is private, Kristi tailors the intensity, exercises, and progression entirely to where you are right now. If you would like a more in depth mobility assessment of your body and goals, book your first session WITH Mobility Assessment.
I HAVE AN INJURY. IS VI RIGHT FOR ME?
Yes — injury recovery and rehabilitation is one of Vi's specialties. Kristi has extensive experience with clients recovering from back injuries and surgeries, joint issues and replacements, postpartum recovery, peri-menopause, posture rehabilitation, as well as conditions like scoliosis, ehlers danloos and other hyper mobilities. Please mention any conditions when booking so your session can be adapted accordingly.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING?
Wear soft and breathable form fitting, athletic wear. Please avoid wearing garments with zippers as it can damage the machines.
Grip socks are required. Bring a water bottle and small towel if you'd like.
HOW IS A PRIVATE SESSION DIFFERENT FROM A GROUP CLASS?
In a group class, the instructor designs for the average. At Vi, every exercise and correction is made specifically for your body. This means faster results, lower injury risk, and a more efficient use of your time. Most clients see measurable improvements in strength and mobility within 4–6 sessions.
CAN I BRING A FRIEND OR PARTNER?
Absolutely, in fact we recommend this! Studies show we are all most effective in our workouts when we do it with a partner as it keeps us accountable and motivated. Vi offers semi-private sessions for two people — a great way to show up, share the experience and still get a whole lot of personal attention to your form and progression. CANCELATION POLICY
Vi asks for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or reschedules. Clients may cancel or reschedule their appointment directly within the app or by contacting us via text (NO email).
Any cancelation or reschedule within the last 24 hours, without exception, will impose the full class charge and class forfeited.
Vi does our very best to accomodate changing schedules, as well as prepare ahead of time for your specific session. Therefore, please understand if we receive a last minute cancelation that does not give us the time to give that spot to someone else who may have wanted it, adn we have already spent time preparing for your class.
All credits/classes are non-refundable and must be used before their expiration date. Any unused expired credits will be forfeited.
